Carmilla Story

Many years ago, Carmilla was born to the Ansaac family of Castle Aberleen in Avalor. As the only daughter of King Earl, she was deeply loved by all her family since birth. When she grew up, her eminent family background coupled with her captivating beauty made her one of the most popular noble ladies in Castle Aberleen, and maybe even the whole Empire. However, her royal origin was inevitably bound to the tragedy as to become a political tool of her father Earl Ansaac, consolidating power by bethroting her to another family in power. Though countless aristocrats tried to court Carmilla, none of them pleased her. Her innate pride made her refuse to bow down to mediocrity. What she wanted was someone who could connect with her soul. But, her father Earl Ansaac had already made his decision. As the threat of the Abyss was getting closer, he knew that the new class of military-nobles would be more likely to dominate the politics of the land. Thus, he had to establish a good relationship with them, in order to sustain the social status of his family. However, a man who was rather insignificant to old Earl, foiled this plan. That man was Cecilion, the best Opera singer in the Southern Empire. Carmilla became one of his most loyal audience since the first day he came to Avalor. In Carmilla's eyes, he was just so elegant and talented, but she could also read the melancholy and mystery from his eyes. For each of Cecilion's performances, Carmilla would sit right at the middle of the auditorium, quietly enjoying his singing performance. One day, as the curtains called, Cecilion and Carmilla's eyes met. The flames of passion ignited between them. And like, how a bolt of lightning cracks open the dark night's sky, they instantly fell in love. The days that followed were the happiest ones in Carmilla's life. When night fell, Cecilion dressed up and came to invite her to the Opera house, singing songs he composed specially for her. And Carmilla watched his performance intently, never taking her eyes off him. When the performance ended, they dated at the backstage, dancing in the moonlight. And in the early morning, Cecilion would put a rose on Carmilla's windowsill; a rose that was nourished by the morning dew, and leave quietly. As time went by, Carmilla noticed something unusual about Cecilion. He lived in solitude and never had needless contact with others. His skin was always pale, even when he hadn't used makeup; and it seemed that he always avoided something. From his eyes, Carmilla could feel his desire for a normal life, and she could vaguely see that Cecilion might have some resemblance to the legendary Blood Demon species. Though Cecilion never talked about his origins with her, she still chose to believe in him, because she could feel that his love was real. It didn't matter to her, if he was an ordinary man or a blood demon, it was just about love between them, and Carmilla believed that she would always belong to Cecilion, and would spend the rest of her life with him. Though they loved each other deeply, Carmilla's father, Earl, forbade her to marry this humble singer. He imprisoned her and forced her to marry Baron Tawil, a General of the Imperial army, who was stationed near the outskirts of Avalor. In order to make Carmilla forget CecilionEarl even sent his men to close down the Opera house. Deep inside Cecilion's mind, he knew that the love between blood demons and mankind would never be true. Though he loved Carmilla, he finally decided to give up. On the day he left, he wrote her a letter, in which he told her everything, about his origins, his story, and left it with a rose at the windowsill. Even then, Carmilla didn't stop fighting, she was not willing to succumb to her father's will. But her heart broke when she read Cecilion's parting letter. To Carmilla, it didn't matter what species he belonged to. She loved him, and without him, her life would become meaningless. She stood at the window, gazing upon the morning sky. As the dawn was rising, she took a sharp dagger and slit her wrist. The world fell into endless darkness and Carmilla buried her love in her own way. When Carmilla awoke, she found herself once again in Cecilion's solemn arms. His eyes were full of kindness, and he was looking at her. Then she found her body to no longer be warm and her touch to be quite cold, as if she were lifeless, and her skin looked just as pale as Cecilion's. She realized, her lover hadn't abandoned her, he had returned and revived her with his own blood. These two lonely souls were finally together again and could live with each other forever. Engulfed with both grief and happiness, Carmilla held Cecilion, tightly in her arms. She was determined to support him in stopping even the world from tearing them apart, a second time. After that day, the people of Avalor never saw Cecilion or Carmilla again, only the legendary tales of night, passed from mouth to mouth over time. It was said, when night came, Carmilla nestled in Cecilion's arms above the top tower of Castle Aberleen, as if time stood still. Love was invincible and their story had brought a sorrowful, but epic romance to Castle Aberleen, if not, to the entire Avalor. Now, as Carmilla had turned into a Blood Demon, she could leave all her worries behind as Cecilion would never have to worry about protecting his identity, least of all from her. They would stay together, forever and nothing could seperate them, any longer. If one was lucky, they might see these two souls in the darkness, and then they would then realise that love can bring any shackles, and those in love, together. As their period as outcasts continued, Carmilla had made it a habit to caress the wound in her wrist, from time to time. Carmilla clearly knew, she was no longer a human, but she never regretted her decision. It hardly mattered to her, as long as she could stay with the one, whom she loved. She further felt that life would become meaningless to her, if she couldn't be with Cecilion. As such, Carmilla spent all her time, trying to fit in her new identity, as a Blood Demon. It was painful at first, but her lover was there, to support her. He would keep her company, his eyes fixed on Carmilla with tenderness, and sing songs, he specially composed for her. They would dance together, under the dark sky. And at this point, Carmilla would feel a connection to a mysterious ancient power, which she still remained unable to recognize. With the passage of time, the rage and pain of his only daughter, being taken away, was about to erupt through Earl Ansaac's heart. Consumed by endless waiting and misery, and to protect the dignity of his family, he decisively relied on his soldiers and the noblemen from the high military merits. However, Carmilla cleverly sabotaged her father's plan, trapping all the soldiers sent to capture her and her lover, even before they could reach their target. She deeply wished that her father would change, after this incident, but reality had failed her yet again. Her father remained stubborn and refused to give up, on hunting down Cecilion. Seeing this, Carmilla was filled with hatred, and in order to protect both her lover, and herself, whenever provoked, she would curse this loveless world, with her power of Blood Demon, answering her enemies, if necessary, in a puddle of blood.
